Gyration Technology

Gyration products have been revolutionizing the industry with a comprehensive line of next-generation user interface devices that take advantage of Gyration’s proprietary motion-sensing technology to produce reliable, seamless, interference-free operations.

Gyration’s devices, such as Media Center Remote controls and pocket size GyroTransports, enable people to use one hybrid remote to access all their Internet entertainment content, at home or on the road for music, cable TV or the Internet. By including intuitive human motion sensors in the devices, users can issue commands to their computer, TV or Media Center at a flick of the wrist.

Gyration’s line of 2.4GHz cordless optical air mouse products represents the most advanced technology available for desktop use and In-Air use. This patent-protected motion-sensing technology is based on a tiny embedded gyroscope that can measure the angle and speed of movement to advance a cursor between Point A and B, allowing users to select content or enable features on a device simply by pointing in the air.

Gyration is pushing the boundaries of gyroscope and motion sensing technologies with the introduction of the new star of its range, the UltraSense™ motion sensing chip. The chip contains a sophisticated set of patented motion control algorithms, power management features and integration capabilities that allow quick and low cost implementation of motion sensing technology into a range of applications.

UltraSense takes motion sensing to the next level. With five degrees of motion sensing freedom – two rotational (gyroscope) axes and three linear (accelerometer) axes – roll and dynamic drift compensation, lower power consumption and faster start up times (20ms), UltraSense offers significant improvements over what has gone before it. It cements Gyration’s position at the cutting edge of motion sensing technology.

Gyration’s technology will be used in the future to integrate hardware and software solutions to provide device control, content indexing, content navigation and distribution to fixed and mobile components through a single, hand-held user interface device. Gyration brings orientation to the digital era – allowing users to be the navigators.
