Q: My mouse does not respond to any button press and the lights do not flash anymore.
A: In this state, the mouse does not respond to any button press, not even the "connect" button on the mouse. This is an indication that the mouse battery is low (at or below operating specification). Place mouse on charging cradle (It takes 5 hours to completely recharge battery), remove mouse, and press the connect button on the mouse. A quick blue flash should appear on the mouse - indicating the mouse has started up and is active. If the mouse was placed on charger for five hours and was previously connected, a three level-amber flash will appear quickly followed by an active blue LED.
Q: The Mouse LED comes on when the activate button is pressed, but the receiver is unresponsive
A: It is possible that your Mouse and Receiver are not synchronized. Connect the devices as shown in your Quick Start Guide.
Q: The Cursor movement is choppy or erratic
A: There could be radio interference. Move the receiver away from other electronic devises (e.g. monitor, speakers, radio, etc.).
Q:My wireless network is causing interference. Can this be corrected?
A:The Gyration 2.4GHz product uses a technique called interference avoidance so it will automatically channel away from wireless networks, Bluetooth devices etc. The problem with network interference generally is caused by the wireless router or access point being set up to broadcast over the entire 2.4GHz band. There should be set up options in the router or access point to set the broadcast bandwidth to something other than all 800 channels available in the 2.4GHz band. Once the SSID is changed the problem should go away (preferred non-overlapping channels are 1, 6, and 11).
Q: When pressing the Activate button, the LED on the mouse is flashing
A: Your batteries are low. Recharge or replace the battery pack using the Installing and Charging the Batteries instructions on page 2 of the Air Mouse User Manual.
Q:The status light on my keyboard is flashing.
A: This indicates that your batteries are low. Replace the batteries.
Q:When pressing the Activate trigger, the LED on the mouse is off
A:This condition could be due to either dead batteries or the Mouse is off. First ensure that the Mouse is powered-on (see Powering the GO Air Mouse On and Off on page 5 of the Air Mouse User Manual). Then, recharge or replace the battery pack (see installing and charging the batteries on page 2 of the Air Mouse User Manual.
Q:The cursor moves too fast or too slow
A:The speed or acceleration may not be set properly. Change the cursor tracking speed in the mouse control panel.
Q:When using the Mouse in the air, the cursor is visible but shows no movement
A: It is possible that the gyroscope is not activated. Squeeze or double-click the trigger on the bottom of the mouse.
Q: The cursor drifts off the screen.
A: Generally speaking you should not have problems with the cursor drifting since the mouse was calibrated prior to shipping. If you do experience drift just set the mouse on the charge cradle for 5 minutes and it will recalibrate.
Q: The Mouse LED does not flash in the charging cradle and the mouse does not charge
A: Check and ensure that the cradle (and its cable) are connected correctly, both at the USB port of the computer and on the cradle. It is also possible that the mouse is not seated correctly on the cradle or it has dirty contacts. Clean the contacts on the bottom of the mouse and on the charge cradle using Isopropyl Alcohol or another electronic contact cleaner and place it back on the cradle making sure it is seated correctly.
Q: There is inadequate battery life
A: The battery life is estimated to last at least 2 weeks . Using the mouse on light-colored surfaces minimizes battery drain.
Q: Will the Air Mouse Elite work with a Gyration GO series products?
A: Although the Air Mouse Elite uses a 2.4GHz frequency to communicate, the Air Mouse Elite will only interoperate with its USB Dongle and keyboard.
Q: The computer does not recognize data input from the keyboard.
A: First, check to see if the keyboard is powered on. Then, move the receiver away from any other wireless electronic devices (e.g. monitor, speakers, radio, etc.) to minimize radio interference. Next, perform a Connect/Connect sequence as shown in your Quick Start Guide. Last, replace the batteries.
Q: Why don’t the Keyboard Hotkeys work?
A: You have to press the “Fn” key when selecting a hot key or it will not function. Also Keyboard Hotkeys are controlled via the Windows operating system “Human Interface Device Access” service. If this service is stopped, hot buttons will no longer function. If the service is disabled, any service that explicitly depends on it will fail to start. The default setting of the HID input service in Vista is Manual. Follow these steps to enable the “Human Interface Device Access” service.
Open start menu
Select Control Panel
If in category view;
Select System and Maintenance (XP - Performance and Maintenance).
If in classic view;
Select Administrative Tools
Select Services
Select the HID Input Service (double click)
In the General tab, Startup type, select automatic
Reboot your computer.
Q:I would like to run multiple units in a small area. Will the mice and keyboards interfere with each other?
A: No, the Gyration GO product line uses the 2.4 GHz band for radio transmission. This band has approximately 800 channels available for use. These channels are shared by many other devices including Bluetooth devices, 802.11 B/G Wireless routers and hub, plus IP phones. In some cases the setting of the wireless routers and hubs can affect the radio signals of the Gyration devices. Routers and hubs usually have internal setting to limit the channels used so they do not broadcast over the entire bandwidth. Once the SSID is changed the problem should go away (preferred non-overlapping channels are 1, 6, and 11). That being said, the Gyration product uses a technique called interference avoidance to automatically channel away from other devices (including other Gyration products) that start to encroach upon the channel the device is currently using. This is done dynamically and is usually unseen by users of the Gyration product. We have many locations that have multiple units set up and running in close proximity. This is usually in the 4 to 20 unit range.
Q:Does the Gyration product use encryption to prevent eavesdropping?
A: Gyration products have no protection against keystroke eavesdropping. We do not encrypt our data or do anything special. Given the right equipment the data packets could be picked up and deciphered.
Q:Will the Air Mouse Elite work with a Mac?
A: The Air Mouse Elite and keyboard will work with Mac (OS 8.0 and higher) with limited functionality. There are no additional drivers required; it is a plug and play device.
Limited functionality includes: On the keyboard, the internet and multimedia hot keys are not supported. On the mouse, the Motion Tools Media control software is Windows only. Cursor control and standard mouse buttons are fully functional.
Q:What do the different lights on my mouse mean?
A: the 3 orange lights indicate the battery level.
The blue light flashes when trying to connect to the USB receiver.
The blue light is steady when used on the desk or in the air.
Q:My keyboard does not connect to the USB receiver?
A: This is an indication a key was accidently pressed first before the "bind" button on the keyboard. Wait 10 seconds and observe the LED lights on the keyboard have stopped flashing. Press the "connect" on the USB receiver, verify the USB receiver LED starts flashing. Then press the "connect" on the back of the keyboard, avoiding any other key in the process.
Q:What does the blue blinking light on my keyboard mean?
A: The blue light flashes four times when trying to connect to the USB receiver.
The blue light flashes when keys are pressed. If the blue light does not blink when typing, that means the battery level is low. In this state, The blue light will flash five times every minute while not typing.
Q: How do I configure my right mouse button to go to a previous slide in PowerPoint?
A:There are a few ways to accomplish this;
In the Motion Tools software, Presentation tab, assign the “Previous Slide” and “Next Slide” actions to a Media Button or a Gestures/Swipe motions. This will make the PowerPoint slides go forward and back using one of those controls.
In PowerPoint select Tools, Options. From the view tab unselect the checkbox that says "show menu on right mouse click" or "Popup menu on right mouse click". The handset will advance slide on a left click and go back one slide on a right click.
Office2007 – Select the Office button (upper left corner); from the menu select PowerPoint options. Select Advanced, in the Slide Show section uncheck the “Show menu on right mouse click” box. The handset will advance slide on a left click and go back one slide on a right click.
